Sacrifice ratio is an economics term. It is used to understand how much we are sacrificing from the growth rate to lower inflation. Today I will use this term with a slight modification. We will look at what we sacrifice while doing business in business life. 

I think the more we sacrifice from other jobs while completing a job, the more inefficient that company will be. Especially if the job to be completed is waiting for a single person, the company becomes very dependent. We are all aware of the existence of people in companies who keep information about projects only to themselves. These people think that they are doing important work with the sense of indispensability they get with this information. However, it is not.

When the progress of projects depends solely on them, it also reduces the productivity of other workers. Efficiency matters a lot here. I believe companies should focus entirely on efficiency. 

It is obvious that the restriction of this efficiency is the greatest evil to be done to companies. However, preventing this is quite simple. With good planning and document preparation, this can easily be avoided. What to do to avoid this situation;

·      Preparation of project documents

·      Preparation of the working principles of the projects

·      Code structure and preparation of database document

·      Determination of test processes

We see that this situation is not addressed even in very large corporate companies. The absence of project documents in projects located and used in critical areas often indicates that only one person is using this information to make a profit. Although it does this for its own benefit in the short run, it will reduce the productivity of companies and employees in the long run. As with everything, this situation can be solved with education. In immature societies like Turkey, as long as there are people who have not completed their individuality, it will be very natural to encounter this in business life. The important thing in companies is to understand that the owners of the projects are companies, not individuals.

Invest in systems, not people.
